Here are five things you might have on your desk right now, that could be making you look a little unprofessional…
1.  Dishes and food containers.  Bringing your lunch to work is obviously fine, but having a week’s collection of used coffee mugs and dirty forks could give off the impression that you’re messy.
2.  A swarm of papers or sticky notes everywhere.  According to a recent survey of senior managers, having a messy or disorganized workspace was the “most distracting or annoying” thing about employee work areas and could suggest that you’re disorganized.
